Hartselle Utilities is beginning a major sewer rehabilitation project to replace and repair aging sewer lines in several areas of Hartselle.
The project includes approximately 24,000 feet of sewer pipe, along with repairs or replacement of manholes and some sewer connections. The work is designed to improve the reliability and capacity of our sewer system and help reduce the potential for sewer overflows.
Construction is expected to begin August 17, 2026, and continue through April 24, 2027, weather permitting.
What Customers Can Expect
Most work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., although some weekend work may be necessary. Customers may see utility markings, construction equipment, crews working near streets and sewer easements, and temporary traffic changes. Areas disturbed by construction will be restored as work is completed. Sewer service will be maintained throughout the project.
Drivers traveling through construction areas should slow down, follow posted signs and directions, and watch for flaggers. Temporary detours may be necessary in some locations.
We understand that a project of this size may cause temporary inconvenience, and we appreciate our customers’ patience as we make these important improvements to Hartselle’s sewer system.
