Field Assistant
Hartselle Utilities provides drinking water, sanitary sewer, and natural gas utility services to residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout the City of Hartselle.
HU is seeking candidates to fill a Field Assistant position in our Engineering Services Department. This position offers a minimum starting pay of $18 per hour. Starting pay is commensurate on experience. In addition to pay, HU provides an extensive benefits package.
This position aids other engineering services personnel with skilled tasks relating to maintenance and testing of utility infrastructure, mainly water, natural gas, and sewer system components.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of six (6) months of work experience in utility construction and maintenance operations.
- Completion of CPR/First Aid training acceptable to HU.
- Ability to successfully complete Operator Qualification Training (OQT) modules and associated field evaluations applicable to this position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain natural gas pipe fusion/welding certification.
- Ability to travel as needed for work and training.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and random drug screenings.
