Recognizing that our billing cycle may sometimes place an undue hardship on some of our customers, a customer may request that their penalty date be changed to the 5th of the month if they can provide proof that their sole source of income is Social Security, SSI, or Disability and that their sole source of income is paid to them between the 1st and the 5th of the month and their due date is the 25th of the month or later. All applicants must fill out a Customer Agreement for Special Penalty Date for approval by the Customer Service Representative. This plan is subject in all respects to these rules and regulations and the standard service policies of Hartselle Utilities.
If a customer, after requesting that their penalty date be changed to the 5th of the month, incurs past due charges, the agreement will be cancelled and the original penalty date will be reinstated.
